Sun & Moon Capital, LLC is a Dallas Based lower middle market operational focused investment firm that selectively invests and partners with owner operators. Our goal is to work with management teams to take industry leading companies and build them into world class organizations.
The operating executives at Sun & Moon Capital possess over 30 plus years of experience in operating, acquiring, and investing in companies. This experience, fosters governance, strategy, development and execution in lower middle market companies.
Javar is responsible for sourcing, valuation, vetting, capital raising, and working with management team posts close to achieving financial results. Prior to starting Sun & Moon Capital Partners, Javar was the owner-operator of a coffee sandwich shop. Javar would exit that business and become the owner and operator of a medical courier service while serving as a board member and shareholder of a toxicology laboratory that grew revenues from 500k to 20 million. Javar is a graduate of Babson University’s Goldman Sachs 10,000 small business program. Javar is currently enrolled in Dallas College with a transfer pathway to Texas A&M at Commerce to complete his degree in finance.
Javar was selected to represent his peers at Goldman Sachs’ annual Businesses Summit in Washington, D.C. He previously sat on the committee board for the Dallas Fort Worth Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and was awarded mentor of the year by the Norfolk Public School System. Javar lives in Duncanville Texas with his wife and four kids.
Jeff Cartwright - Operating Executive
Jeff is a seasoned executive with deep operations and general management experience. He has led manufacturing, logistics, engineering, sourcing, product development, marketing, and sales for leading multinational consumer products firms for over 35 years. Experiences include leadership in US, Mexico, China, and Europe. He has conducted multiple successful interventions resulting in value that has consistently exceeded expectations.
Jeff’s experience includes serving as the President & COO of Igloo Products, where he led the company through significant double digit growth and a 15% improvement in EBITDA. Prior to this, Jeff was also the President & CEO of Cosco Home and Office Products. During his tenure, this $150 million business received two Vendor of the Year Awards from Wal-Mart in addition to sole supplier in two different product categories.
Jeff resides in Dallas, Texas where he is actively engaged within the community. Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife and four grandchildren. His interests include military history and college football.
Sean Dorney - Operating Executive
Sean is an accomplished sales and operations executive with 30+ years experience in private equity operations and sales leadership positions. While working in private equity his responsibilities included evaluation of sales and operations functions inside prospective and completed acquisitions, instituting sales processes and selling methodology, implementing CRM and SFA systems, developing pipeline and forecasting procedures and driving strategic and transformational initiatives in the companies to improve operating performance and grow margin and revenue. Sean has been directly involved in more that 50 M&A transitions and turnarounds in his PE career.
In addition to his PE experience, Sean has more than 15 years in various sales leadership roles as a top performer in the manufacturing, supply chain and retail sectors selling complex, enterprise-wide solutions. This includes solutions to help companies leverage dynamic pricing science to improve revenue and margin.
Sean has B.S. in Behavioral Sciences from New York Institute of Technology and resides in Southlake, Texas with his wife and two daughters.
Mike Mardy - Operating Executive / Board Advisor
Currently, Michael J. Mardy holds the position of Chairman of Vince Holding Corp and treasurer and trustee at Penn Medicine Princeton Health.
He is also a Member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Member of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, Trustee-New Jersey Chapter at The Financial Executives Institute, and Member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and on the board of 6 other companies.
He previously was Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Keystone Foods LLC, CFO, Director, and Executive Vice President at Tumi, Inc., Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President for Control Building Services, Inc., Chief Financial Officer, Director and Executive VP at Tumi Holdings, Inc., Chief Financial Officer & Senior Vice President at Nabisco Biscuit Co., Director & Executive Vice President at Specialty Retailers, Inc. and Controller for Nabisco, Inc.
He received an undergraduate degree from Princeton University and an MBA from Rutgers State University of New Jersey.
